Description of the issue:
Unchecking the box for “Show on startup” when the “Who’s using Brave?” window opens does not stop the window from showing on startup on Mint 22.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Install linux Mint 22 on a Dell Pavilion 3490 (don’t seem to have this issue in a virtual machine)
Install Brave browser using steps provided at https://brave.com/linux/
Launch Brave browser and create at least one additional profile
Close the Brave browser
Launch Brave browser and uncheck the “Show at Startup” checkbox
Choose a profile
Close the Brave browser
Launch the Brave browser and “Who’s using Brave?” still appears
Expected result:
“Who’s using Brave?” window doesn’t open when launching Brave when the “Show at startup” button is unchecked.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
Version 1.70.119 Chromium: 129.0.6668.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
Same issue on Manjaro (Arch). Never had that problem with Chrome.
Looks like we have some other users experiencing this as well as there is already an issue logged on our Github:

### Description
I have multiple profiles configured, A and B. When I launch B… rave, it prompts me to choose a profile. I deselect "show on startup" in the bottom right, and select my profile. Then, I close Brave, launch it again, and it prompts me regardless, with "show on startup" reselected.
### Steps to reproduce
1. Create more than one profile
2. Launch Brave
3. Deselect "show on startup" in profile prompt
4. Close Brave
5. Launch Brave, you should be prompted to choose a profile anyway
### Actual result
Prompted to choose a profile.
### Expected result
Should not be prompted to choose a profile and should be opened directly to the home page.
### Reproduces how often
Easily reproduced

### Miscellaneous information
I was able to mitigate the issue by opening `User Data/Local State` and setting the `show_picker_on_startup` to `false` manually. Now when I open Brave, it doesn't prompt me for a user profile selection. I imagine something is just not saving the deselection of the checkbox properly.
I’ve added this report to the thread and tagged a couple people in the issue and internally as well.

thanks, was able to find “show_picker_on_startup” and switch it to “false” for now at “~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser” in ‘Local State’ using the details in the github commnet
