Description of the issue:
I uninstalled and installed Brave on Android (Pixel 5a) – hoping to fix a separate issue. After enabling Rewards, I no longer see the full set of Rewards options. In particular, I don’t see the section that shows the creators I’ve visited, so I can’t cull the list. Is it no longer possible to do that? (The popup says I’ve visited 3 creators.)

As stated in your post you reinstalled the browser which would have cleared any existing information of the Creators you would have visited or tipped. Secondly, from the screenshot you have provided you will need to connect your custodial account to see future tips contributed.
I am not expecting to see the creators from my previous installation. I don’t see the 3 verified creators that I’ve visited, according to the popup – I should see the Brave Search URL, for instance. Incidentally I also don’t see the form that asks if I want to automatically contribute my BAT to creators.
Re the custodial wallet, is that a new requirement? I haven’t so far had to do that, on the desktop or mobile browser, in order to contribute to creators. I realize that the Brave Wallet does not persist beyond its browser’s installation, which is OK since all I do with the BAT from ads is contribute it to the creators I choose.

I don’t remember seeing the alerts about the vBAT related changes I’m on v.1.52 on both desktop and mobile. It’s unlikely that I missed the alert, if it appeared, on both devices.
