Description of the issue:
Right clicking a tab is not working when using vertical tabs.
Instead of showing the context menu, the tab is selected and the page is shown.
The context menu works on horizontal tabs, however.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Enable vertical tabs in settings
Right click any tab
The tab is selected, no context menu is shown
Expected result:
The context menu should be shown, the tab should not be selected
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.75.181 Chromium: 133.0.6943.141 (Official Build) (arm64)
Additional Information:
macOS 14.7 (23H124)
EDIT:
The context menu works when clicking a tab while the ctrl key is pressed - doesn’t matter left or right click
I’m not having this issue when I just tested, at least on Windows. Kind of curious to see more. But my initial thoughts are that you might have an extension interfering or perhaps have some setting changed on your device. This especially gets called into question when you say holding Ctrl seems to have it work.
Brave doesn’t really have any adjustable shortcuts in terms of mouse clicks and I don’t think can disable right click for context menu.
Just out of curiosity, does the same issue happen if you created a new browser profile or if you open in a private window?
Unfortunately, the issue persists on my side even with a new profile or all extensions disabled.
It certainly worked when I first installed Brave and stopped working after some update. I am not sure whether it was a Brave, macOS or maybe some other 3rd party software update, though.
This is what I’d want to lean toward as this generally would not be a behavior to be toggled via Brave.
But the question would be what to look at? Do you have any gesture tools or anything that you use?
Speaking of updates, can you confirm you’re on 1.76.74 or later and still having the issue?
Also if you’re willing, I’d like to know if this is also happening on Brave Beta or Brave Nightly. You don’t need to try both, just pick whichever one. This will help to narrow things down a bit.
