Description of the issue:
When clicking on hyperlinks in other applications, it opens a new window showing a new tab. On other Chromium based browsers like Chrome and Vivaldi hyperlinks are opened without any issues. For some reason opening hyperlinks from KDE, Qt and other non-GTK applications works just fine and this issue remains only on GTK based applications.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Trying to clear mimetypes
- Trying to set Brave back as default browser
- Trying to set Brave as default browser in settings
- Seeing that none of these worked, trying various applications
- After trying out, it seems like the issue remains only on GTK based applications
