Description of the issue: When trying to access my (internal) pfSense router/firewall’s management web GUI, entering the correct username and password instantly returns me to the login page with empty username and password fields.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Go to http://10.x.x.x (internal IP - there’s no way for you to access this.)
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
The only screenshot I could post would be a screenshot of the pfSense login page. I don’t think there’s any point in doing so.
Expected result:
Log me in to pfSense
Reproduces how often:
Every time unless I use a private window.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave
page in the main menu):
Linux Mint 21.3
Brave 1.39.111
Additional Information:
This does not happen on any other website.
This does not happen on any other browser I have installed (Chrome, Firefox)
This happens whether shields are up or down.
I’ve seen other threads on this forum where the culprit turned out to be the password manager. I’m using Bitwarden; it’s configured to be active in private windows as well as normal windows and I am, in fact, using Bitwarden to login (successfully) in private windows.
NOTE: I don’t just access this from a desktop icon; it’s also an icon in a dashboard which can’t be configured to use a different browser when opening a link. If anyone knows of a way/extension to always open specific (but NOT all) URLs in a private window (or different browser), that would be a decent workaround.
