Can't link Brave account with Uphold

Hello,

This subject was probably discussed multiple times here, but I couldn’t find any thread that approached my question.

I live in Bulgaria and I have an Uphold account. Until the beginning of this year, I had my Brave account linked to my Uphold account and I was getting the rewards.

Earlier this year I changed my motherboard and after installing Brave on my computer and could never connect both accounts again, it just says that it’s not supported in my country (which is funny happening 30 minutes after I changed my motherboard).

Can someone help with this?

@NoPantsBatman: Exactly same problem here. Im living in Poland and have been facing exact same problem as you when my HDD broke and I had to get new one (ssd this time).

Brave browser support is… well, not ideal; I got no help. I contacted Uphold with my problem and they respomded within 2 hours from me reporting problem, and, whats more important, helped me.

That’s good to know, I might contact Uphold then.

Did they fix the problem themselves, or they gave you steps to how to fix it?

they fixed it themselves and just let me know afterwards.

I guess you were luckier than me. They just told me to contact Brave because they can’t do anything about it

And Brave will do nothing ( will not respond ) OR will respond with some nonsense/generic reply,

The above is correct. You can find a list of all supported countries here: https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/6539887971469. As you can see, Bulgaria is not on the list of supported countries.

Regarding the timing of your issue after changing your motherboard:

When Brave stops allowing new connections from certain countries, they often keep existing accounts “grandfathered in,” meaning your existing Rewards profile could remain connected, and you would continue earning rewards. However, uninstalling Brave or changing hardware that affects your device’s identity could reset your existing Rewards profile, effectively starting a new one. Since Bulgaria is not currently supported, this would prevent you from reconnecting or continuing to earn rewards after such changes.
