Can't exit private mode

Hello,

I’ve installed Brave onto Windows 10.
It’s been installed for about a month and was working well.
However, yesterday when I opened the browser it opened in private mode and now I can’t exit private mode.
I didn’t choose to enter private mode. Don’t know how and am not interested in using it.
I can’t confirm which version of Brave I’m running. When I select the About page it opens blank as does the Settings page.
Any thoughts?..
