Can't connect Ledger wallet on Windows

On latest brave (Version 1.29.81 Chromium: 93.0.4577.82 (Official Build) (64-bit)
) , latest windows, if you go to brave://wallet and select “hardware” then “Ledger” then “connect” the page just blinks.

If you open the developer console it says:

TransportOpenUserCancelled: Access denied to use Ledger device (anonymous) @ ui.js:209

It looks like something is going on trying to talk with USB devices, I guess. The Ledger Nano X works fine with everything else.

I’ve seen many unanswered topics where one cannot reconnect to their Ledger device - I suspect it’s the same issue though I can’t say for sure since I could never connect.

I had the same issue and opening Ethereum app on the ledger fix this (credit to: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/9925#issuecomment-778487963)
