I’m trying to use the new version of Brave as my default browser. I’m using Version 1.9.76 Chromium: 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit).
However, I’m running into difficulty.
While it says the new version is the “default” version and loads when I click the Brave icon, but when I click a link in an email, it brings up the old version and the link never comes about; never shows up.
How can I get rid of the old version so that only the new will be operating. When I click the Brave Icon it will bring up the new Brave. But clicking a link brings up the old. I can’t have this.
Please assist in correcting this error.
You can uninstall the old version. Then set the new version as default again.
Thanks, Eljuno, it seems that your suggestion helped, with one difference. I had to uninstall both old and new, then reinstall the new and at first, when I clicked an email link, it brought up a new window…
Then after that, it opened the link inthe already existing window.
