Cannot Log In to First Bankcard Website

Using the URL for the First Bankcard website for our business credit cards, I am unable to log in using the Brave Browser.

https://auth.securebanklogin.com/?brand=firstbankcard

I am able to log in with both Safari and Google Chrome with the same credentials from the same computer.

  • What happens when you try?
  • Do you have any extensions enabled?
  • Does it work if you visit in a private window?
  • Have you tried changing Shields settings or turning off Shields?
  • which version of Brave are you using?
  • Which OS?

It’s important to try to provide much detail when Creating Topics so it’s easier to understand the issue and know which directions to give.

Here is what happens when I try (have confirmed login credentials are correct with 2 other browsers):

My extensions are: Adblock Plus, Adobe Acrobat PDF tools, Application Launcher for Google Drive, Authenticator, Boomerang for Gmail, Capital One Shopping, Docs Online Viewer, LastPass, Gmail Inline Image Fit, Google docs Offline, IE Tab, Tampermonkey, Xdebug helper

Login does NOT work from a private window.

From the login window, clicking the Brave Icon and choosing Shields Down DOES WORK.

Brave version 1.58.137 Chromium: 117.0.5938.153 (Official Build) (arm64)

macOS Ventura 13.4.1

@KyoshoZMM Okay, so what your reply helps us know is that it’s not your extensions or cookies causing issues. But it is indeed your Shields settings. I’m going to guess you have something a bit too strict. Do you have Aggressively block fingerprinting? If so, lower it to Block Fingerprinting

If not, then just might have to go through and figure out which particular setting or content filter is creating issues. (which unfortunately just is a bit of time and constant adjustment on your end until you figure it out. Otherwise it just means disabling Shields for your bank site)

I’m suddenly having this similar issue with the American Express site getting “Our site is not available at this time” alert for several days now. Using Firefox or Chrome, no issue. I’ve checked fingerprint settings as you’ve recommended above but they are STANDARD. I’ve been using Brave without issue for several years now. So what’s changed?

My issue has been resolved with the latest update:

Version 1.59.117 Chromium: 118.0.5993.70 (Official Build) (64-bit)
