@ryjobe36 sorry, don’t remember seeing the reply of you asking, guessing didn’t get a notification due to no tag. I have Uphold and have been quite happy with them. I also have a profile that has been doing on-chain payments as I was in one of the early test groups. Both work well, but of the two I prefer Uphold because it’s easier to convert to cash and all.
Currently Brave Wallet hasn’t been letting me sell BAT, which means to remove it I’d have to send the BAT to an exchange and then process, so it’s extra gas fees and all. Perhaps it wouldn’t be bad if I did a lot more in self custody wallets and all, but I keep things very simple and don’t do too much with cryptocurrency in general.
As to whether it’s a pain to switch, it depends. If you already have an active Uphold account then it’s incredibly easy. But if you’re needing to create one then it would be a bit trickier as you’re going to have to go through the whole KYC/AML process where you submit your passport and/or other documents to prove your identity, tell them where the money you plan to use for any crypto purchases come from (at which point they’ll make you prove the earnings), make you take a selfie, etc. It’s not necessarily difficult but it can be annoying.
On-chain payments currently aren’t enabled for everyone. So to get on it you’d have to try to sign up for the waitlist at I discuss in the topic at PSA: Current and upcoming changes to Rewards and Creators
Either way, to switch, you’ll have to Reset
your Rewards. Then from there would have you connect.
