When I switched to Brave from Vivaldi, most of my bookmarks came across with a relevant icon, but a few seem to have a generic icon
I’ve looked in bookmark manage and although I can change the Description and url, there doesn’t seem to be any way of altering the icon associated with the bookmark, or have I missed something?
Typically icon adjusts once we use the bookmark and it fetches data from the site.
yes I tried that but it didn’t work. I know Vivaldi offers the edit icon feature and hoped that Brave did (or may consider for future designs)
There isn’t a manual way to change the bookmark icons that I’m aware of—Brave typically just fetches them directly from the websites we visit. Some sites might not provide an icon, which is why you’ll see a default icon instead. I’ve noticed the same thing in my bookmarks as well.
I checked in Chrome, and the same sites show the default icon there too, which suggests this is a Chromium-related issue.
Given Brave’s smaller development team and their focus on larger projects, cosmetic changes like this are often better handled by Chromium, which has a larger team of contributors who can address such issues more effectively. I’d suggest opening a request with Chromium, as it has a higher chance of getting results quicker than it would through the smaller team at Brave.
