Can Someone Explain "Social Media Blocking" in Settings?

In viewing the options:

Allow Facebook logins and embedded posts

Allow Twitter embedded tweets

Allow LinkedIn embedded posts

I could find no explanation as to what enabling or not enabling these options actually mean. Can someone help clarify this for me? Thanks.
