I had some files set aside in my Brave folder just to keep separate and never moved them back. I recently cleared my data on my Brave app on my phone and I think it deleted those files, at least thats the only thing I can think of? It seems odd that it would but I’ve tried searching the file name on my phone and nothing is coming up all, and they are not in my recently deleted folder. Am I totally screwed or this there a way to restore them?
I am not sure . . . but on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. DO NOT click on any “Empty” button.
Scrolling down the iPhone Storage window a bit . . . select “On My iPhone”. You might have already tried this, but maybe something is listed there.
Otherwise, if by chance, you had your iPhone doing backups to Apple’s iCloud, and/or backups by using iTunes or Music on a Mac computer, you might be able to restore from such a backup.
On a Mac, the iPhone backup is stored in a folder named “Backup” at: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
If you have, and open, that folder, an iPhone backup would be in a folder with a long name of alphanumeric characters and probably a hyphen in there somewhere. The modification date, may interest. Do a “Get Info” on the folder, and its size - usually in GigaBytes (“GB”) - will indicate a backup.
Thank you I will give that all a shot!
If you deleted/reinstalled Brave, reset your data, do not see your Files in “Recently Deleted”, and do not have your Files backed-up to iCloud, then your files are gone forever, and cannot be recovered.
As previously mentioned, by @289wk, if you have an iPhone backup on your Mac or PC, you may be able to recover the files, depending on when your last backup was performed.
It is like a frustrating situation! If you’ve already checked the recently deleted folder and searched your phone with no luck, you might want to try using a data recovery app or restoring from a backup (if you have one). Sometimes clearing app data doesn’t permanently erase files CPU agent bottleneck calculator, but it can be tricky to recover them without proper backups. Hopefully, you can find a solution!
