Camera not working on macOS

Camera is not working on macOS Brave. Since yesterday it worked fine but now I cannot use the camera in any website (Google Meet, webcamtests..). Tried turning off Shields, reset consents, clear cookies, anonymous mode..).

Version 1.77.95 Chromium: 135.0.7049.52 (Official Build) (arm64)

Take a look at the following (and there, also follow the progress of subsequent replies):

Webcam not loading in Brave - #4 by Saoiray

Unfortunately that did not help. I tried restart of laptot, restart of Brave.. Webcam works fine in Firefox and Chrome but not in Brave..

@romanzdk

And, you tried what @Mattches suggested:

Downloading Brave Beta and test to see if your webcam gets picked up/works there?

Note that downloading/installing the Beta will not overwrite your current installation or any information therein. Additionally, once you’re done testing, you’re welcome to uninstall it if you’d like.

Correct?

Default camera not used und unable to switch. #42486

https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/42486

Camera works in Brave beta :thinking:

@romanzdk what actually happens when you land on these sites? Do you see the prompt to allow the site to use your camera? If so, what happens when you click Allow? Additionally, if you visit the site, then click the “tune” icon to the left of the URL, then Site settings, you should see a list of permissions allowed or blocked for the site. Can you change the Camera permission to Allow here?

So I figured it out. Actually it was caused by “Autoplay” being off. I turned off autoplay for all sites which caused video and sound to not work on any website. Turning autoplay on for google meet solved the issue.
