Some videos on Bitchute display as solid red rectangles when I play them. I can hear the audio playing, but all I see is a red rectangle. The problem doesn’t occur in Firefox. Disabling Shields doesn’t solve it. Not all videos on Bitchute suffer from it. I’m not logged in to the website when it happens. I’ve attached a screenshot.
Two videos that have the problem:
Trump’s legion of shameless ‘sucker proxies’—Cat Turd, DC Draino, Benny Johnson—are caught red-handed spinning economic carnage into a twisted victory dance!
Whether the rally was a dead cat bounce or a turn-around, the...
One that doesn’t:
The video discusses Trump's tariff policies, their impact on global markets, and how different countries are responding. It explores the potential long-term effects on the US economy, China's resilience, and the EU's unpreparedness for this economic...
Someone reported an almost identical problem 4 years ago:
Until this week, my spouse was able to load and watch videos in Bitchute using Brave. But now, Bitchute loads, but where the video should be is blank white screen. The sound plays in the background, but there is no video. We’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Brave, but the problem persists. We don’t have this problem with other browsers, just Brave. Any thoughts or possible remedies? Thanks!
I’m using Brave version 1.77.97 Chromium: 135.0.7049.84 (Official Build) (64-bit)
My OS is Debian 12. I noticed the problem in older versions of Brave and under Ubuntu as well.
Seemingly related, a big red rectangle appears around YouTube videos when I watch them.
Can you try disabling Graphics Acceleration
and test to see if that fixes the weird red rectangle?
Settings --> System --> Graphics Acceleration
