I frequently use the bar to switch to an alternate search engine. This is on iOS.
Two scenarios it can be reproduced in:
- make a search. Hit enter. Scroll around, then hit the search bar. The quick bar disappears below the keyboard
- after adding two or more custom search engines and removing one
