Bug: Double Click triggers when single clicking the mouse

Hi there, I am having an issue that makes the browser nearly unusable, which is:

  • Browser will do a double click action when single clicking with the mouse.

It will happen not only in pages such as youtube (you want to pause it and it will enter fullscreen mode), but even in the Brave window itself (back button will trigger twice). Or in the Brave settings, toggle will trigger twice, which will put the toggle in the same state.

It is incredibly annoying, and I’ve seen many other people reporting this already, such as this thread:

But so far none had an answer.

I am using the latest stable version as of today, and I have disabled all extensions.

Please let me know if there is any known solution.

PS: It seems this happens only after consequent triggers, not on the first one. It only happens with brave, not other browsers or any other programs.

I’ve been getting this specifically with Brave Beta version. Not noticing it so much on Brave Stable. It is very irritating though, as I must alter my behaviour across the different browsers I have open.

I see this was also reported at Right-click menu overlaps the mouse position so adjacent item is immediately activated but got closed without resolution. Just to expand:

  1. On Brave Stable I right-click and the pop-up has the mouse pointer positioned at the extreme top-left or bottom-left of that pop-up.
  2. On Brave Beta when I right-click the mouse pointer is positioned about midway up on the pop-up to the left, but just a few pixels in. As I release the mouse button it has clicked that entry under the mouse.
It is not happening anywhere else on the OS or in Edge or Brave Stable. I’ve only noticed it the last month.

I’m facing the same issue on openSUSE (Gnome) since update to 1.74.48 (stable) a few hours ago.
Definitely not OS-specific.
Much easier to reproduce with a low screen resolution.
