Browser Tabs Became Vertical and Cannot Revert to Horizontal

Recently, the browser tab layout in my Brave browser has changed from horizontal tabs at the top of the screen to vertical tabs on the side. I want to revert back to the horizontal tab layout.

Steps I’ve Tried (That Didn’t Work):

  1. I set the brave-horizontal-tabs-update flag to “Disabled” and relaunched the browser.
  2. I force-quit the browser via the Task Manager and restarted it.
  3. I cleared cookies and history (this mainly logged me out of various accounts).

Despite these steps, the tab layout remains vertical.

Expected Behavior:

I expected that setting the brave-horizontal-tabs-update flag to “Disabled” and relaunching the browser would restore the horizontal tab layout as it was before.

Actual Behavior:

The tab layout remains vertical on the side of the screen.

Go to the Tabs section at brave://settings/appearance and disable the Vertical Tabs option. Thanks!
