Description of the issue:
When you open print dialog and your preferred printer is offline, browser freezes for a minute or so while it tries to ping the printer.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Have a device on a network from which you will share a printer;
Example: Have a windows laptop that is plugged in into the printer, then share the printer through the laptop. - Make that printer default on some other device in the network (it will be default if you recently printed something through it);
- Make laptop offline (turning it off works);
- Try opening print dialog through Brave browser from the other device.
My assumption is that it is trying to reach the printer (through the network device) and Brave is waiting for a timeout to happen. While waiting for the timeout, whole browser freezes.
Expected result:
Browser not to freeze, loading symbol would be sufficient.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
Version 1.52.130 Chromium: 114.0.5735.198 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
Windows 10 Professional on both devices
Opening dialog for the second time doesn’t trigger the freeze.
