For the last few weeks, anytime I fully close the Brave Browser, I am getting logged out of any sites that save my login information. Google, YT, Reddit, even this Brave Community site. I do not have anything selected for “Delete on exit” and also have 3rd party cookies allowed. In fact, I have made ZERO changes to my settings at all recently, but this just start to happen recently. I tried creating a new profile and even that is getting deleted when I close the Browser.
The only extension I am running is Bitwarden and I’ve had that installed for years.
This is by far my preferred browser, but I have tons of accounts and logins for various apps and having to constantly re-enter all this information, esp. with 2 factor-authentification is a really big pain.
I saw some other threads about this, but none of them seemed to offer a real solution.
This did not work. And, just like OP, it’s as if the browser forgets all login details to every site after closing and relaunching. Shields are set to off too…
I have seen a number of other posts complaining about the same issue and have yet to see a single solution. This is a new issue that is clearly impacting multiple users and is one that, unfortunately, breaks all convenience of a functional browser.
Apologies for not posting a follow up, but I did find a solution. I saved off my bookmarks and did a complete un-install of Brave and then downloaded the newest version and installed it. Re-loaded my booksmarks and now it’s working fine. I’m on Win 10 BTW. Hope this works for you!
@BibSplendid177 if this is a fresh install of Brave then something else might be going on here. Is this a normal home computer or one you’re using at work (for example)?
Also, can you please try downloading the Beta build of of the browser and tell me if the issue is the same there?
