**Description of the issue:**Brave will not download Rumble Podcast to Playlist for offline play.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Open Rumble in Brave Browser, choose podcast, let play for a minute, use and one of three methods to add to playlist. Go to Playlist, says “there is an error in loading from the source”.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
**Expected result:**Open Playlist to see podcast saved. But it is not there.
**Reproduces how often:**Did Brave update 3 days ago, and it wont work. everytime.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Version 1.77 of Brave Additional Information:
would like to use Playlist offline. Did upgrade to Rumble Premium. Not sure if it affected Brave?
Did you download to PLAYLIST and Play? I can play Rumble podcasts but not save to Playlist. Would like to use them offline. Nobody has a Rumble account? Sorry the answer is lacking. Sorry if I misinterpreted.
If a person turns off Shields and plays the video, it will show ads but then get to the content. Saving the video to Playlist then should theoretically work, but instead it only saves the ad for offline viewing and not the actual video content. Below is a screenshot where the video was playing but then when you check the screenshot underneath, you see what actually saved
I got bitchute and another smaller podcaster to download to player. Had not been able to do this before. So, yes think you right, a Rumble thing. I will go back to their support. TY.
@Mattches it happens on any video from Rumble. It can’t save to Playlist. What it does is try to save the ad. So if Shields is on, it will show resource error. If Shields is off, it saves the ad but not the actual video
Regardless, the actual video content a person wants to add to playlist never gets there. This issue only seems to be happening on Rumble.
Instead of repeating, I’ll just link the original issue:
This issue resolved itself for less than a month, now it’s returned (roughly a week ago).
If anyone can take a look at the code, figure out why the hell the Brave app refuses all of a sudden to add Rumble videos to the playlist it would be great!
EDIT:
Just to make my use-case clear:
As Saoiray said, I’m using Rumble with Shield on (as I always have), and any video added to the playlist results in a resource error in the Playlist.
