Description of the issue:
There is a “Try Brave VPN” on the bottom left corner of the homepage, I have tried the “Block Element” option but it still appears.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Click the new tab “+” button at the top of the window with the default homepage set.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
The page opens fine but there is an annoying “Try Brave VPN” widget.
Expected result:
I would expect no ads by the same browser I’m using to block ads.
Reproduces how often:
About 2/5 new tabs.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
Brave v1.70.126
Windows 11 23H2
@Chrisxdxl are you talking about in something like in the screenshot below? If so, then what you’re seeing is the Sponsored Image (also referred to as a NTP ad) coming up. They can be of all sorts of random products or services. They are one of the many ways we can earn BAT or support Brave.
You can disable Sponsored Images if you don’t wish to see them by clicking on the Customize button that appears when you’re on your dashboard, such as below. Then from there you go to the bottom of the Background Images section and turn off the toggle for Sponsored Images:
Thank you for the quick response, I have managed to fix the issue by going to “customise” on the homepage and turning off “show sponsored images”, the setting was hard to find and I couldn’t find any documentation on it but I managed to sort it out either way.
