I am running Brave on Windows 10. I travel frequently, and often use a cellular hotspot or hotel wifi with a hard data transfer limit. Whenever there is a new Brave update available, Brave downloads it automatically, then asks me if I want to install it.
Since Brave already gives me the option to not install the update right away, what is the harm in also giving me the option not to download the update right away either? That way I’d be less likely to kill the Brave process and switch to a different browser until I’m back on an unlimited connection.
Windows 10 already has a “metered connection” flag for every connection with a profile, which Microsoft products and some others check before automatically downloading updates. Perhaps Brave could do the same thing?
