Brave Today hogs the CPU

Description of the issue: With enabled “Brave Today” the process called “window server” jumps up to 80-90% of CPU-usage. The device thinks it is a helicopter by starting the fan for a lift-off.

How can this issue be reproduced?

    1. use latest Brave v1.18.70 on a MacBook Air 2018 with latest mac OS Big Sur 11.0.1 (20B50)
    1. enable Brave Today on the new-tab-page
    1. scroll down to read Brave Today items.
    1. the process: window server on macOS screws up the CPU usage and the fan tries to lift up the whole device.

Expected result:
No CPU usage for this tab above 50 % for showing Brave Today items

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Not sure if the team is already aware of high cpu usage but I’ve pinged some devs and will open an issue if there isn’t one already.
