Hi so ive recently reinstalled my windows and everything on it dverything else is fine beside brave’s god damn sync, it syncs the bookmarks and thats it and when i click leave sync chain it atill stays there

Like all i see in sync-internals on browser now is “initial getupdates due to newly_supported_datatype” like ???
Okay so i downgraded to v1.74.46 and it instantly worked

I am having the exact same issue as Marcellhvh, how can I fix this? Only bookmarks synching and nothing else.
I just downloaded from brave.com but now i got the latest stable build from github
Go to the bravesoftware github and get the latest “release” version

Then try going an even lower version? Idk i think my fix was just pure luck
I am having the same issue. Just clean installed windows, Installed brave (Version 1.73.105 Chromium: 131.0.6778.265 ) in hopes that all my data can be synced back.
But only bookmarks synced… I reinstalled Brave, and again - only bookmarks synced.
Obviously I also backed up all AppData before, but that these days is useless if you want to restore the previous browser state since all passwords, cookies are DPAPI encrypted, etc.

Same. Just tried - 1.74.46 version and only bookmarks are synced on desktop Brave version.

It also seems to only upload local browser history (7 ) instead of downloading from the common synced ones.
10h later and nothing has changed for me.

I had to reset my pc due to it having malware I could not get removed. I cant recall if i selected sync to “sync everything”. When I got a fresh install of windows and entered my sync code, after waiting over an hour, only my bookmarks have synced. I am very much hoping that doesnt mean i didnt select sync everything and only had the default sync bookmarks on.

Description of the issue:
I installed Zorin OS 17.1 Pro on my laptop today. My main computer runs Windows 10 Pro. I use Brave BETA on both devices (I also installed Brave BETA on my laptop). I copied the Sync code from my PC to my laptop, but Sync is not working correctly. It imported bookmarks, but nothing else.

I just tried to do a Brave sync on my new computer and when you do a sync for the first time it defaults to only syncing bookmarks. So my bookmarks came over fine. But I want everything else as well (except open tabs). So I checked all the other boxes but nothing else seems to come over. I still do not have my extensions or history or anything besides my bookmarks. How do I force a sync of these items?
First try on Win10: Brave didn´ accept sync-code (expired)
So I created a new sync on Linux.
On Win10 the new sync-code was accepted, the sync started for a blink of a second and put the bookmarks correctly , but doesn´t sync preferences and add-ons.
What can I do ?

18 hours later sync finally worked … Everything else is synced, as you see. Not just bookmarks.
