Brave supported Manifest V2 UBlock Origin blocked by default by the broswer and flagged as "untrusted source"

Brave Beta desktop broswer doesn’t allow the activation of UBlock Origin after installation via settings, flagging it as “suspect source”.

  1. Open Settings and go to Extensions
  2. Click on Manifest V2 Extensions
  3. Activate Ublock Origin from there and intall it
  4. After installation the app is deactivated by default by Brave
  5. Trying to manually activate the extension is no use.
A red message on the extension management page says: “Questa estensione non è elencata nel Web Store e potrebbe essere stata aggiunta a tua insaputa. Scopri di più

The expected result should be that the extension is active or at least activable after installation. But it’s not and it seems impossibile to do it.

Brave è aggiornato:
Brave 1.81.97 (Build ufficiale) beta (a 64 bit)
Chromium: 138.0.7204.35

This occured on my second and third PC too, with the same latest Beta version. And my sync chain didn’t installed nor activated the extension on my other PCs. I guess this is because Brave supported Manifest V2 extensions aren’t synced between devices, since I tryed to activate uMatrix and NoScripts on my first PC and on my second one they didn’t appeared, it means that Brave didn’t sync the extensions.
This is also a feature request since it shouldn’t be like this, it should sync every extension, especially Brave supported ones!

@digired thank you for reporting this. I’m seeing the same thing. Strangely, it works just fine on both the Nightly and Stable Brave builds but not in Beta.

Reaching out to the team about this now.

Thanks for answering me and reporting to the team!
That’s weird. Maybe devs alredy found that bug and fixed it on Nightly?
I hope so, so in the next update it will be fixed.
Thanks again :folded_hands:
