Description of the issue:
Brave all of a sudden stopped blocking cookies pop-ups (on all websites) and YouTube Ads

EDIT:
After further investigation, I arrived to a different post from this same forum (Brave stopped blocking ads - #13 by alankillie) that explains the issue and how to solve it.
It turns out that, for some reason, certain components from brave://components tried to update automatically but their folders (located in\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data) were asking for Administrator privileges. After opening those folders with the file explorer and manually granting them the privileges, I was able to update the failed components (EasyList Cookie and Brave Ad Block Updater).
I really don’t know what could even cause such an issue, this has never happened to me in the past and I hope it doesn’t happen to me again, because a browser should never require such an intrincate chain of actions to fix…
