At first I though problem is in my extentions list, but no I tried clean install and had same issues
Same problem occur on my laptop with no extentions, please help
Be Prepared
So that you are prepared for subsequent steps. Be sure to place your backups in a safe location - on an external USB drive, for example. You might also create a specific location on your Windows OS machine, for such backups . . . something like a folder:
C:\BraveBrwsrBkups
That directory (folder) is easy to create and to locate, and also out of the paths of Brave Browser installation parts/pieces.
Clear cookies, cache, history, etc.
In a Brave Browser New Window, go to:
brave://settings/clearBrowserData
Select the Advanced tab
Set Time range to “All time”
ENABLE everything except:
- Passwords and other sign-in data
Click on the “Clear data” button
Test your issue.
Make a habit of:
- Make note of Brave Browser Settings that you would manually restore (Yeah, it is a lot of paperwork, but you know the drill.)
- Back up bookmarks (and tabs, as bookmarks)
- Back up passwords
- Back up Windows Registry
- Create System Restore Point
It’s only one time solution, no? Is there more reliable?
Every modern computing device’s software, requires maintenance.
Plan for that work; do that work.
“Set and forget” has limitations.
Next thing you know, “somebody moves the furniture,” and you either adjust or bypass/discard “what worked.”
The most common frustrations that I notice here, at the Brave Community, could be resolved by:
-
having available, routine data backups
-
setting Brave Browser so it clears cache and cookies at exit / quit
-
performing a complete exit / quit of the browser
-
limiting extensions to 3
-
limiting Tab count to 10
-
organizing bookmarks
-
creating an extra Brave Browser Profile that you use ONLY for test purposes - making no settings changes in this TEST PROFILE
-
creating an extra Brave Browser Profile, that you set up to be similar to your favored Profile, but not adding extensions - so you have something to use “just in case”
-
study how to use Brave Shields
-
study how to use Developer Tools
