Brave Seed gives me different account number than shown in Brave Wallet

Description of the issue:

Are you using the (new) Brave Wallet or the (old) Crypto wallets implementation?

New one.

How can this issue be reproduced?

Using your Brave seed in another app.

Brave Version (check About Brave):

Version 1.38.115 Chromium: 101.0.4951.64 64 Bit

Additional Information:

My account number in Brave wallet is the same for every network (ETH, BNB, POLYGON…), but when I use the seed phrase on other apps, the account number is different, so my funds do not show up there. Why? What can I do? Thank you.

Do you have a legacy 24-word seed phrase?
If so you’d have to either send the funds out or import by private key only into the other wallets.
When restoring to Brave we support the standard way by default but you can also select a checkbox to import using the old legacy way.

Edit: I found a guide for the private key retrieval: How to download/backup the Private Key from Brave Wallet? - #2 by onyb

Hi Brian,

Yes, I have a 24-word seed phrase, but also a 16-word seed for Brave. How do I generate the private key from the seed?

Go to brave://wallet/crypto/accounts click on the account, then the pencil icon and then switch to the Private key tab.
