I just tried Goggle for the first time. First of all, it would help if i could “hover” over Rust programming & Hacker news so i can know what on earth they are, as i’m pressed for time.
Now to the point:
Here’s a screenshot of 2 searches wherein i typed “ed martin” & “ed martin north carolina”. Question - is this Goggle bias? Note that a regular search (without Goggle) produced way more left-leaning results.
I see, thanks. I did note quite different search results in Yandex.
Maybe there can be a way offered for users to rank search yields as left/center/right (FL,L,C,R,FR) with higher priority given to Non-anonymous rankers such as, say, Ed Martin himself. So that the latter can click an additional flag-button to dispute skewed rankings. Also, unfounded disputers can become discredited.
Granted, all this is complicated, because who’s watching the watchers? I think Dr.Seuss put that in one of his books, which itself may have been censored by now.
@inquirer people can create their own goggle if you want to teach yourself the syntax. You can also use Operators which helps refine searches a bit.
Also not sure if you noticed, but Brave did introduce Rerank if you want to check it out. I also had done a first post about it at Brave has a new Rerank feature for Search when first released.
Again, Brave itself isn’t labeling, reranking, or censoring. This would have to be a goggle that someone creates and handles. It does get hard as people would mash buttons to make claims, especially with how so many create bots. We’d see a lot of skewed and misaligned things. This is where Brave has long said they want no part in censoring or reranking results. They’ll show what they have and then it’s up to us to use tools to rerank and censor based on our own individual need.
OK, so if its up to us to use tools to rerank and censor based on our own individual need:
In that case, how, for example, is there a simple way to rerank The Dispatch site shown in my O.P. so that the author of that article is ranked as Leftist (rather than Right)? I did mention this in my 2nd post above, in so many different words, though I do acknowledge that it can be ranked by a huge majority of liars the other way, just as they do on Reddit. (Granted they’d only rank that stuff for themselves cuz you say Brave doesn’t rank). In any case, that’s why i feel there’s no hope for the direction this world is headed, because bullies predominate due to their sheer focus. That’s why the left-sites will always predominate, even for those of us who choose sites ranked Right. Never the other way around.
Note i went into Goggles and reranked so that sites on the Right are ranked high, as well as No Pinterest and Copycats Removal (whatever that is). As for that zip file, i downloaded it, some of which i consider trash, especially google which is at the top of the list. Google is not my homepage, even if i visit it when necessary due to it having become practically a monopoly on info along with YT. (Rumble/etc. notwithstanding). BTW i failed to comprehend what the 1k-short Goggle is about.
P.S. It would help if this textbox weren’t so tiny, and was more WYSIWYG, versus asterisks for bold and italics. Unfortunately, i’m pressed for time, so i don’t know when i’ll get back here.
I’m confused. How/ where can I contact a human to help me set up the Brave browser?
I’ve downloaded it but it doesn’t run. I’m on an iMAC using Ventura OS.
