Brave Search creates an https:// in front of my ad portfolio = breaks it...Help!

Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. For this reason, we have provided the template below for you to fill out with information about your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can most efficiently resolve your problem.

Description of the issue:
Brave Search automatically creates an https:// when I type in the address to my portfolio website. I don’t want it. It just want http:// as I work in ads. It’s a mess. I might have to stop using Brave (at least the search) if this is not fixable.

Is there something I can do to my site so https works for it?

Can somebody please help? I have no idea what I can do to fix this.

Brave Version (check About Brave):
Version 1.35.103 Chromium: 98.0.4758.102 (Official Build) (x86_64)

Operating System:
OS X Monterey (but I’m desperately trying to downgrade)

@soupking That’s in your Brave Shields settings. You can change it for just your one website if you want or you can disable it all together. It’s for security/privacy purposes where it automatically upgrades links to Secure, which helps protect data sent back and forth.

If you want to change it for a particular site, when you’re on it, on the top you’ll see the Lion type icon. Click on it and you’ll see the option for a toggle that says Connections upgraded to HTTPS

If you want to permanently change it for all sites you visit, then go to brave://settings/shields and look for that same toggle and set it to off.
