Brave-ring public key not installed

Fedora 32
https://brave-browser.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installing-brave.html#fedora-28-centos-rhel-8

Hi All,

First off, I apologize for the bolded text. I have not figured out how to turn it off yet.

I can not install “brave-keyring” as DNF fails it for the Public keyring missing:

“Public key for brave-keyring-1.8-1.noarch.rpm is not installed”

dnf install brave-keyring

Error: GPG check FAILED

Ed over on the Fedora list helped me figure this out. The key is not overwriting and have to be manually removed first.

Here is my notes on the subject:

Brave Browser: Public Key error:

Fedora 32+

Reference(s):
https://brave-browser.readthedocs.io/en/latest/installing-brave.html#fedora-28-centos-rhel-8

If you are receiving the following error trying to
install/upgrade Brave Browser:

Public key for brave-keyring-1.8-1.noarch.rpm
is not installed

And you did install it with:

# rpm --import https://brave-browser-rpm-release.s3.brave.com/brave-core.asc

Then you have to manually remove the key and reinstall it:

  1. find the key:
    $ rpm --import https://brave-browser-rpm-release.s3.brave.com/brave-core.asc rpm -e gpg-pubkey-c2d4e821-5d13a788

  2. remove the key:
    # rpm -e gpg-pubkey-c2d4e821-5d13a788

  3. reinstall the key:
    # rpm --import https://brave-browser-rpm-release.s3.brave.com/brave-core.asc

  4. verify it was reinstalled:
    # rpm -qa --qf '%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE} %{SUMMARY}\n' gpg-pubkey* | grep -i brave c2d4e821-5e7252b8 Brave Software <support@brave.com> public key

Then go ahead and (re)install Brave Browser

This just happened to me on a Fedora 30 server. Same fix action was applied
