Brave Rewards stills shows up after disabling

So I disabled Brave Rewards in Settings but on the Bottom right the Icon still shows up regardless.

Basically, I use Barve on PC and really like it, even paid for the premium. On the mobile I also installed it but disabling the Brave Rewards option did not yield any results- it still appears with an icon that suggests „new info“ is there, which of course there isn’t.

I use iOS 18.1.1 and Brave Version 1.73 (97)

I do not use a custodian as I do not need brave rewards.

And I probably am in a supported region here (switzerland) but that seems irrelevant here.

@papadt seeing how you use iOS, there would be no custodian anyway, just FYI. That’s because we can’t earn BAT on iOS. Also at this time there is no way to hide the Rewards button on iOS like we can on desktop versions. It will be there forever until they change the design.

In terms of you saying it showing something to suggest new info, I’m not sure what you’re seeing. I do know on a lot of new profiles or devices it will do that until you activate it and do something like choose your country. It is indeed an intended nag to make sure you’re aware of the option. Then whether you leave it enabled or disabled is up to you.

I use the top bar setting instead of bottom bar, so my Rewards icon is top right rather than bottom right. Like you mentioned, I have mine disabled. Of course, the icon will forever appear there, but it doesn’t have anything to act like it has any new information.

Thats unfortunate.

But I could enable it and left it for some time, then after disabling at least the notification icon is gone and it is now greyed out.

With “new info” I mean that there was a small bubble like when you recive a new message / email (the red one with the number)

it was just not red - also the icon always stayed coloured and did not switch to grey initially

Could this be a feature request or something?

I am really strange but such things trigger me.
