Brave rewards not working after Windows 10 reinstall

Briefly describe your issue: After performing Windows 10 clean reinstall, I’ve read somewhere that copying appdata/local Brave folder would backup my current BAT, while it worked and showed correct amount of earned BAT, Brave rewards stopped working with a lot of “Decryption failed for wallets.brave” in rewards internal logs.

What Operating System and Brave version are you using (Menu --> About Brave)? Windows 10 Home, Brave 1.29.79.

Is your browser wallet currently verified? (yes/no) No.

What date did you verify your wallet?

Have you been able to successfully receive payments in the past? Before reinstalling OS everything was working.

Are you using a VPN? (yes/no) No.

Are you in a supported region (see here for list of supported regions)? Yes.

Does your device pass the SafteyNet check (Android only)?

Have you manually turned off Auto-contribute on all of your devices linked to Uphold??

  • Copy/paste your Wallet ID (found on brave://rewards-internals)
  • Your OS and Brave version (first three lines in brave://version)
  • A screenshot of your Rewards panel in Settings --> Brave Rewards.
