Brave Rewards Disabled but Getting Ads Anyway

I have a Google Pixel 1.0 running on Android Marshmallow and I have the latest update of Brave installed.

Every time I open Brave I get ads on my new tab screen even though I never opted into Brave Rewards. I have checked that the Rewards setting is disabled multiple times and tried resetting Rewards too but I still get ads.

:slightly_frowning_face: I faced the same thing until I enabled it again out of desparation.

@jeffdjsks @The_Nemesis you can disable it from Menu > Settings > New Tab Page > Disable “Sponsored Images”.
