Brave Browser on Fedora 40 locks my browser on a regular basis. Fix by removing SingletonLock in ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser. This works, but i would strongly prefer to prevent this lock file from generating needlessly. Also, I do not use profiles. This brave is only ever used on this PC, which has 1 user.
Usually occurs after an update, or a forced restart (when brave unexpectedly closes). Can occur seemingly randomly.
Expected Result: Brave doesn’t pointlessly lock my browser.
Version 1.69.168 Chromium: 128.0.6613.138 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Previous posts have suggested rm SIngletonLock, but I’m after a preventative solution.
edit: cool, my solution is stop using Brave then. If anyone at Brave can ever be bothered to fix this, it’s related to rolling and semi-rolling linux distros. It has been a problem for years.
