Description of the issue:
Whenever I open Brave on Android, there’s a high chance that it opens up to a new tab automatically.
Brave Version:
Brave 1.66.110, Chromium 125.0.6422.60
Mobile Device details
Android 13; Build/TP1A.220624.014 (Galaxy S20 Ultra)
Android 14; Build/UP1A.231005.007 (Galaxy Z Fold 4)

When launching the browser, are you still seeing any of your other open tabs? Or is it just opening to the new tab and no other tabs are opened?
All my tabs are still open, it just opens a new one making me lose my place. It’s a little frustrating.
Interestingly enough, that just happened to me when trying to test it, but now I can’t reproduce the issue again. To confirm, you’re simply opening the browser after it’s been fully closed on your device?
Yes, that’s correct.
This also is happening to me. Before, I used to be able to go into the settings and change it to when I open brave, it starts at the last tab I was on. I can’t see how to do that anymore
I can also confirm that this bug happens, I can consistently replicate it by turning my device completely off and then restarting it, on the first launch of the Brave Browser I get all my currently opened tabs plus a new fresh tab, this first started happening on my Android 8 tablet around a couple of months ago, maybe more, and now it manifested on my Android 12 phone too around last week or so.
It’s starting to get annoying having to manually close the empty tab after every reboot, nothing major but annoying nonetheless.
