Brave only starts with root privileges after restart on MacOS w/ Apple Silicon

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Starting Brave Browser from the Dock, finder, or from command line.

Expected result:
Brave starts normally.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.52.126 Chromium: 114.0.5735.133 (Official Build) (arm64)(https://brave.com/latest/)

Additional Information:
This issue seems to have begun after doing a full shutdown of my laptop. I am on a M2 MacBook Air.

While Brave won’t start normally, if I launch it with root privileges with sudo /Applications/Brave Browser.app/Contents/MacOS/Brave Browser it launches without any of my profile data, e.g. tab groups, bookmarks, history.

Meanwhile, if I launch it as usual the window opens very briefly (It doesn’t have time to even fill the screen) before abruptly closing. Trying to launch without root privilege from command line gives the following error message:
"[12794:259:0627/004442.683700:ERROR:chrome_browser_cloud_management_controller.cc(162)] Cloud management controller initialization aborted as CBCM is not enabled.

"

By comparison, Firefox does not have this issue.

Preferably I’d like to get Brave working again without losing things like my extensions, as to my knowledge things like tab groups don’t get shared with sync.

I semi-solved it myself. Made a backup of my ~/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware folder, then deleted everything & clean installed Brave. After replacing the now empty BraveSoftware folder from the clean install with the backup, almost everything is back where it should be. The only issue is that although tab groups which were open are still there, any saved but closed ones are not.
