Would it be possible for Brave to distribute an installation file (.apk) for non-google devices (still android) that do not use google play. Steam for example distributes a version of their app that way. So far I’ve read that some were able to install Brave on non google devices and having it run smoothly but been unable to create a wallet.
APK is always available on GitHub. Here’s the link for latest release https://github.com/brave/browser-android-tabs/releases/tag/v1.7.0
But you may need to update it manually and keep an eye for any updates brave.com/latest
For now yes. Brave use Google’s SafetyNet API to check the device integrity – if it’s been rooted or not.
This may changed in the future.
