Since the latest iOS update (18), every time I open Brave it is frozen and I have to force close the app. If I quickly change to another app, even if for a second, when I come back it is frozen and I have reset it again. As brave is my main iOS browser this is awful.

I just open the app after I used it before and it is frozen.

In the past, I could open other apps and when I came back to brave it would continue to work.

I noticed that Brave isn’t actually dead, it’s just not updating the UI. If you tap on a link it’ll load it. You just won’t see it. If you change the phone orientation the screen will update once and this can be repeated several times.
For me this does not happen every time I switch between apps but typically happens several times every day.
I’ve made an account to complain about this, this has been persistent for about 6 months for me.
This to me is a BRAVE specific issue, and occurs when I multitask.
If I close the app, it’s fine to open again and carry on, but a multitask flip causes it to lockup and just not respond at all.
I have Sync on, but no rewards or features.

This issue is persistent on my older ios devices and even my families other devices that I advised them to grab brave so it very much comes across as a SPECIFIC BRAVE FOR IOS ISSUE because they do not sync, they multitask, and do not have or use brave on pc/mac/desktop.
Its getting insanely frustrating because latest IOS or old ios10, the issue persists, so its purely a brave tripping over itself and breaking.. somehow.
As a general maintenance rule with iOS devices, I quite often through the day, do complete quits of all Apps, and also, at least once a day, I do a complete shutdown (“force restart”) of the iPhone ← and more often during maintenance procedures: after making changes and after updates.
How to do a complete quit of Brave Browser on your iPhone:
IF you want to do a complete, fresh re-install of Brave Browser iOS.
In the iPhone’s Files.app, create a new folder named “BRAVE_FLDR_BKUP”
Next, I would export the BB bookmarks - creating a “bookmarks.html” file, and store that in the new “BRAVE_FLDR_BKUP” folder. Also, if you use the BB Password Manager, back up your passwords to that “BRAVE_FLDR_BKUP” folder. (You might also back up the iPhone to a computer and/or the iCloud, if you wish.)
Thus, data that most BB users wish to save, is at least stored on the iPhone but not in the BB installation path(s).
Chores:
Make notes of the various iPhone Settings that are important to you.
Make a copy of “Content Filtering” custom filters that you may have added.
Disable any sync chain.
Disable any automated backup service.
Next, do the complete removal of the app and its data ← there is usually an option to select that.
Followed by a complete shutdown of the iPhone. Followed by a fresh installation of the app in question.
Of course, you would then copy or move the files that you saved in the “BRAVE_FLDR_BKUP” folder, into the new “Brave” folder. Import the bookmarks from the “bookmarks.html” file. Etc.
Brave on iOS freezes multiple times a day for me also!
Sometimes is when I open the app and sometimes while using it. I have noticed that if I wait long enough, like 5 to 10 seconds, the freeze stops and is functional again. Other times I just restart it.
It’s getting very annoying , to the point I’m considering switching to Safari for some time to avoid this issue.
