Conflicting info on the different support venues - I’m using Chrome now on my Chromebook - but too tied in to the rest of the Google universe to get rid of it all - is it worth it just to switch to the Brave browser ?

Worth the time to study Brave Browser . . . by using Brave Browser.
No need for a sudden switch.
The more you study and learn, the more you will gain confidence, in using Internet browsers, in general.
