Brave not releasing Camera after Video call

Since the Jan 8th Update, this issue has been happening.

The first time I use the webcam in Brave (Meet or Talk) the camera works. When the meeting has completed, and I start a new meeting, the Camera will not work.

I get an error message “Meet can’t use your camera”

and when I check the camera settings in System Settings, It shows that Brave is “Currently in use”

It seems that Brave is not releasing the camera after the meet or talk has completed.

Besides rebooting, I have not found a way to get Brave to release the camera. I don’t want to close the Brave window because I have work open and do not want to pull everything back up after the meeting.

First, can you please update the browser to the latest build (released today — 1.74.48) and tell me if the issue persists?

Additionally, can you please test this in the reverse order? That is, start a call on Meet with the camera enabled, then end the call and close the meet tab. From there, try to start a call with Brave Talk and see if the issue is the same.

Thank you Mattches, upgrading seems to work. I was on a talk meeting this morning and followed by a meet, and the camera is working.
