every so often brave just doesn’t launch by clicking on its shortcut. by hitting $ brave-browser in the terminal, it says:

Brave has locked the profile so that it doesn't get corrupted. If you are sure no other processes are using this profile, you can unlock the profile and relaunch Brave. i have no idea whats going on, but as it says unlocking the profile should do it, and sure enough. unlocking it: $ rm ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/SingletonLock
and it works again.
the problem is, this keeps happening which is very annoying. i remember reporting this a while ago, so please fix this i can’t leave brave
