@yazar

Please edit your Original Post (“OP”) above, in order to include:

  • Operating System version numbers

Visit another website, select some text of the webpage, and use the commands. Is the text selection copied?

I added OS info.

Yes, selection copied as expected without a problem for other websites

@yazar

Perhaps @fanboynz (Brave Web Compatibility) will know why the Google Keep site seems to be the only website where your text copy issue is a problem.

@289wk Thank you. I am looking forward to hear from @fanboynz

I use Google Keep very frequently and need to get that

@yazar

Try:

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to the Brave Browser (“BB”) settings page: brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fkeep.google.com

Then click both Delete data and Reset permissions. Exit / Quit Brave Browser. Run Brave Browser and test.

Thank you. Didn’t work. It doesn’t even copy by clicking Menu → Edit → Copy

@289wk

Working now.

I checked developer console and I see some errors. I think somehow some extensions blocked “copy” as it is an “untrusted” website. I removed ExpressVPN extension and now working. I have no idea what is that about

@yazar

Maybe - ExpressVPN - “threat management” did not like something:
https://www.expressvpn.com/features/threat-manager

Threat Manager and our advanced protection suite of privacy tools are included in your ExpressVPN subscription.

How does Threat Manager work?

Threat Manager prevents any part of your device from communicating with servers that are listed on our “blocklist” of trackers and malicious sites. We keep this blocklist updated regularly. Read why our method of blocking offers greater safety.

Setup for Mac:
https://www.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/app-for-mac-os-x/#trackers

A lot of the apps and websites you visit keep a record of and share your activity with third-party companies, including trackers, scammers, and malware sites. This information is used to serve you more targeted ads and content, usually without your knowledge or permission.

These advanced protection features prevent all apps and websites you visit on your device from communicating with the third-party companies in our open-source blocklists.

etc.

thank you for your detailed explanation

@yazar

Maybe a bit of fine tuning, would work:

Tips regarding Brave Shields:

I have more success, with:

  • Brave Shields UP
  • Either Allow All Cookies or Block 3rd Party Cookies, but NOT Blocking All Cookies
  • Allowing JavaScripts from specific sources, but NOT Allowing All JavaScripts
  • Trackers & Ads treatment: Aggressive (at first), and then incrementally relaxing that setting
  • Fingerprinting (aka footprinting) blocking: Strict (at first), and then incrementally relaxing that setting

I almost NEVER use:

  • All of Brave Shields UP
  • All of Brave Shields DOWN
