Description of the issue:
Rebooted computer to apply driver updates and brave updated. now no longer blocks any ads on any website. even blocking scripts no longer works. This is why I hate auto updates as i have no way to fall back to previous version.

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off?
sheild doesn’t block any ads so no change with it on or off. as all ads show Does the ad appear when using a Private window as well? (yes/no)

if you go to brave://components are you able to update everything?
I’d wager you’re going to tell me updates fail and some show 0.0.0.0.0 or whatever. If that’s what it is, then it’s nothing to do with auto updates but is because of your OS. There have been issues where devices are shuffling components folders into admin only folders. Then when you open Brave it’s not able to access those closed off folders.
There’s been no simple solution for people when this happens. Some say simply opening Brave as administrator resolves it. Others install Brave on top of their current iteration and it repairs. Others delete all the components and then install on top to replace, which fixes. And then you have the other bunch which say they had to uninstall and reinstall.
And actually, was a different where they said something about locating the specific folders, trying to open or whatever where it makes you confirm admin, and then it becomes available permanently again.

Some of those do not update and show error. went through all 35 components and hit update. closed brave, reopened and did it again. I did this 3 times. it does seem to be working now. though i still do not like auto updates. they break more things then ever fix in my experience. older version was working fine then new breaks. there wasn’t a change in my OS, only the mother board drivers and the asus armory app to fix the rgb light settings they broke.
as it’s working i will monitor rest of today and then close this if no changes tomorrow.
