@JeffStPaul,
Crashes, bugs and issues are quite common in Nightly builds as features and fixes have not had any time to be tested and subsequently fixed. The most useful thing to do in this kind of situation would be to share your crash reports with us, but you can only do that if the browser can stay open. Does the browser crash immediately or do you have time to visit brave://crashes on the device and share the crash report ID with me here?
Note that you can find all browser releases here:
Click the Tag option to view each individual browser release version and download the appropriate one.
It starts to open then crashes immediately.
Since it worked perfectly for 6 -8 months previous I assume it has something to do with the latest update. If I were to test it by deleting and reinstalling the app I am concerned that I would lose my saved windows.
@JeffStPaul,
Unfortunately yes, if you uninstall the browser from your mobile device, any saved data will be cleared out.
Nightly updates happen very frequently (hence the name) so I would simply wait for the next browser update, update it through the Play Store (which is where I’m assuming you downloaded it initially) and then try opening it again.
Yes one option was wait for the next update but I wanted to report the issue right away to see if others were having the same issue or if possible revert to an earlier version or another work around.
Or possibly to reload Nightly without uninstalling in the case of some code corruption if possible.
