Brave keeps shutting down by itself even after re-install

Description of the issue:
Brave kept shutting down/crashing by itself consistently throughout the day - very annoying. No warnings, no hint that it’s crashing. This happened over 30 times before I decided to re-install.
So I re-installed the newest version. Unfortunately, that didn’t work. Shortly after, Brave shut down by itself again - all tabs closed.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I don’t know to reproduce this issue as it happens randomly by itself
  2. Since it’s crashing by itself, maybe looking at the crash report would help?

Expected result:
to have Brave not shut down by itself

Version 1.77.95 Chromium: 135.0.7049.52 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Hello - Are you still seeing this issue in 1.77.97? We’ve escalated internally.

Is there any specific behavior or action occurring before the crash? Do you get any memory errors?

Thanks for looking into this issue. Yes, I’m still facing this shutdown issue in 1.77.97. No errors or messages popup. It just shuts down by itself like a switch - doesn’t even ask if you want to shut down all tabs as I have multiple tabs open. I even removed and re-installed Brave but nothing changed.

It’s OK if you can’t resolve it. I’ll manage as I like Brave more than other search tools.

Hi, I have the same problem for a few days now. Brave closes by itself. I have noticed that it always does this, for example, when I want to add a page to the bookmarks by dragging it from the address bar to the bookmarks bar. Then the program always closes itself.

My version is 1.77.100 and the system is Windows 11 pro 64bit

Sorry to hear about your issue. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Not sure what’s triggering this. It happens suddenly, even if I’m away from my laptop. It happens multiples a day. Yesterday, i was watching a basketball game, it shut down. Then again while on Youtube. All tabs just close without even prompting/warning “close all tabs?”
Hope it gets resolved. Appreciate the help from Brave team.

Same with me.
Yesterday I shut down for the night - several youtube pages open.
Today I try to start Brave - it loads, showes the former tabs but shuts down
Even an empty browser > youtube crash. Also with several other websites.
I tried to reset the browser - didn’t help.
I loades 3 crash reports
Just tried 2 different windows, one with this site, another with a newspaper - the newspaper instance crashed.
