Brave just won't launch out of no where

Description of the issue: every time i try to run brave nothing happens, the run as an administrator thing pop up than nothing happens after i click okay.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  • no idea, it just stopped working out of no where, one time it actually lunched but all of the taps showed nothing, it just had a blank page with an error icon. i tried restarting my pc, the gpu method, deleted the user data folder, re-installed brave, the incognito method, nothing worked.

Expected result:

  • for brave to start working again, i’ve already backed up my user data folder so i hope that after i fix this issue i can get my browser back to how it was.

Brave Version:
latest

I suggest that you scroll to the bottom and then work your way up the page.

update
i fixed the issue by simply unchecking the "run this program as an administrator* check on the compatibility tab on the shortcut properties. I’ve been running brave as an administrator ever since i got it so i don’t know why the issue just appeared now, but i’m glad i fixed it. A big thanks to 289wk for linking that thread :).
