Brave is switching Desktops on Windows when clicking on Downloads

  1. Open Brave browser on windows with multiple tabs and open some other windows apps lets call this Desktop1.
  2. Now click on “Add Desktop Icon” from Task bar and add another Desktop (Lets call it Desktop2).
  3. Now on Desktop2 open Brave browser and open any website from which you can download files.
  4. After downloading the file, click on downloads button appearing beside address bar on Brave browser.
  5. This will open a small window that contains list of recently downloaded files.
  6. Now click on the folder icon for latest downloaded file.
  7. Now File explorer will open pointing to the file’s downloaded location not on Desktop2. but on Initial Desktop (Desktop1).

Expected result:
When user clicks on Download file’s folder it should open the File explorer window on Desktop2 not on Desktop1.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
I am using latest version v1.78.102

@289wk Just now checked on Microsoft Edge and Chrome , behavior is same.

Seems it’s a windows File Explorer issue rather than Brave’s issue.

Navigation to another desktop is happening only when that file’s Drive window (File explorer )is not open in current desktop but open in another Desktop.

This issue can be closed.
